We are a group of neighbors working to make our community safer and more hardened against wildfires. Our goal is to become a Firewise certified community.

The Firewise USA program, led by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), empowers communities like ours to boost wildfire resilience. Meeting Firewise criteria helps us organize and focus our wildfire safety efforts. This effort is led by Valley View Road residents and we invite more neighbors to join us in creating a safer community.

Benefits of being a Firewise certified community:

  • Building a safer neighborhood with proven wildfire preparedness tactics

  • Connecting with neighbors, learning about fire safety, and crafting an action plan together

  • Qualifying for insurance discounts and access to funding once recognized as a Firewise community

Let’s come together to create a safer neighborhood while building a strong community spirit.

We’re just getting started!

We have defined our group’s boundaries. Currently, we're reaching out to local residents within the defined boundary. For each household within our boundary, 1 hour of volunteer work is required annually, such as clearing brush or creating defensible space. We encourage as many neighbors as possible to join us, as you may already be doing this work on your property!
